Bosnia and Herzegovina is embracing the green transition—a journey towards a decarbonized and net-zero society and economy in a bold move towards a sustainable future.
The Green Transition Engagement Platform unites key institutions and sectors, the private sector, development organizations, civil society, and others in a shared commitment to sustainability. We aim to harness the collective intelligence of this community, foster dialogue, and serve as a channel that accelerates Bosnia and Herzegovina's green transition.
Our Vision
We envision a society where:
- Renewable energy and energy efficiency are the norms.
- The economy thrives on circularity, reducing waste and pollution.
- Biodiversity is cherished and protected.
- All citizens, especially the vulnerable, benefit equitably from the transition.
How do we operate?
We will gather on-site at least four times a year, and ongoing interactions will be facilitated through our digital community of practice at www.zelenatranzicija.ba. This digital space allows daily engagement, knowledge exchange, and member collaboration.
Our culture is built on commitment, engagement, trust, and co-creation, moving beyond just sharing information to truly transformative cooperation.
Who we are?
We believe the green transition of Bosnia and Herzegovina's society and economy will be led by motivated individuals from:
- Government authorities,
- Businesses,
- Academia,
- Civil society organizations,
- Creative communities
- Domestic and international development organizations, and,
- Financing institutions.
We want to create an enabling environment, provide the support they need, and trust them to contribute to progress towards the green transition goals.
